Gem Hale (b. Texas 2000) is a Los Angeles-based photographer and director originally from Texas, known for blending documentary storytelling with a fine-art sensibility. He began shooting at an early age, inspired by his grandmother, and started documenting skateboarding, friends, and everyday moments. These early experiences shaped a style rooted in emotion, honesty, and lived experience. Hale’s work has been featured in The New York Times, GQ, The New Yorker and he has collaborated with brands like Adidas, Nike, Converse. His photography has been exhibited at the Contemporary Arts Museum Houston and other cultural spaces across the U.S. He continues to explore personal and collective narratives, producing editorial, commercial, and self-published work that resonates with emotional honesty and a strong sense of place.
